Resumen:
The preservation of quantum coherence results essential for the observation of interference patterns in grazing incidence fast atoms diffraction (GIFAD or FAD). In recent articles [1-3] it was shown that the size of the collimating aperture strongly affects FAD distributions, making it possible to observe alternatively two differents mechanism: Bragg diffraction or supernumerary rainbows. In this work we extend our previous studies on collimation effects [2,3] in order to investigate the influence of the impact energy and the projectile mass. In the conference we will show how both parameters -energy and mass- play an important role in the focusing of the incident beam, allowing one to slowly switch from quantum to classical distributions. We will also analyze the spotting effect, associated with different focus points on the surface, and the contribution of thermal vibrations of the crystal atoms, both mechanisms that tend to spoil the quantum coherence.
