Resumen:
Neutral Magnesium (Mg I) is abundant in the solar atmosphere and contribute to the emission and absorption of radiation in all the spectral range. Previously, the Solar Radiation Physical Modeling (SRPM) models of the solar atmosphere only considered a few levels of this specie. Here, we improve the atomic model of the mentioned element by taking into account more energy levels. The atomic data are taken from the reliable NIST database. This improvement will lead to reproduce a larger number of spectral lines that were never calculated before. We compute the populations of these levels in full NLTE using the SRPM code and compare the resulting emerging spectrum with observations of the solar spectrum.
