Observational determination of the Analemma: a joint south american project

We present an overview of a process carried out over little more than one year (march 2015 to march 2016) among many groups of teachers, students and researchers from South America (Brazil, Argentina, Chile, Venezuela and Colombia), as part of a project on the Teaching of Astronomy, in order to build an Analemma. Based on the observation of the maximum angular height of the Sun and the precise moment of the true solar noon, during the whole year, the declination of the Sun and the equation of time were measured, drawing later the Analemma (in a cartesian graph or in the ground). We believe that the results are very satisfactory, especially because of the importance of designing and realizing a direct experience, long-term actual observation of the astronomical environment, with a strong didactic intent, conceptually rigorous and wealthy in terms of the work shared between individuals and educational institutions in our region, focused on the study of a curve of great importance to Astronomy as it is the Analemma.
