Resumen:
The concepts of Rimannian geometry have to be modified in string theory in order to account for duality symmetries. I discuss the notions of generalized geometry and double geometry, and some of the achievements of Double Field Theory, a framework developed in order to describe some properties of T-duality in the context of a field theory.
