Resumen:
The High Altitude Water Cherenkov gamma-ray observatory (HAWC) is fully operational in the northern hemisphere, where its installation in Mexico was recently finished. Sites are being seeking for HAWC-South at the highest altitudes, around 5000 m about see level (masl) in the southern hemisphere. In Argentina there is a new area being developed in Salta province, at 4800 masl, for a new submilimeter antenna (the LLAMA project). In this talk I am presenting the site and its properties for water Cherenkov systems.
