Resumen:
P { margin-bottom: 0.08in; }Neutral Magnesium (Mg I)is abundant in the solar atmosphere and contribute to the emissionand absorption of radiation in all the spectral range. Previously, the Solar Radiation Physical Modeling (SRPM) models of the solaratmosphere only considered a few levels of this specie. Here, weimprove the atomic model of the mentioned element by taking intoaccount more energy levels. The atomic data are taken from thereliable NIST database. This improvement willlead to reproduce a larger number of spectral lines that were nevercalculated before. We compute the populations of these levels in fullNLTE using the SRPM code and compare the resulting emerging spectrumwith observations of the solar spectrum.
