Resumen:
In this talk we will look at the open question of the interpretation of the extra degrees of freedom of f(T) gravity. It is known, from previous work in the Hamiltonian formulation of this theory,  that in four dimensions this theory has 3 extra degrees of freedom with respect to the teleparallel equivalent of general relativity. There is still no clue about the interpretation of these extra degrees of freedom, however some attempts were made related with the behaviour of the theory under  conformal transformations. We will review this and other attemps made in order to tackle this issue.
