Resumen:
The energy threshold for the formation ofhighly charged ions is experimentally wellknownand measured [1]. For single ionizationit is the binding energy of the outermost electrons. For multiple ionization by light particles, such as electrons or positrons, the experimentalthreshold is much larger than the theoreticallyexpected one, and the difference increases withthe number of ionized electrons. In this contribution we present a simple expressionfor the energy threshold in multipleionization by light particles. It was obtained byconsidering not only the binding energy of thetarget electrons but also the mean kinetic energyof the outgoing electron [2]. We used Thompsonclassical approximation [3] to obtain themean energy loss by the projectile to ionize anelectron of the nl-subshell
