Resumen:
We use the Sturmian function basis methodology [1, 2] to solve different scattering problems. First we review the one electron Sturmian eigenvalue problem, in which outgoing (bounded) wave boundary conditions are imposed at positive (negative) energies. A complete set of functions is obtained, each of them having the same asymptotic behavior, corresponding to an electron moving around the nucleus (or going away from it) with a externally fixed energy. Expanding an initial wavefunctions in terms of this basis, a time dependent propagation can be implemented. This approach is very e cient and greatly simplify the computational e orts. The Sturmian basis methodology was also applied to obtain three body scattering wave functions for the problem of electron impact excitation and ionization, in the time independent framework.
