Resumen:
The observation of quantum interference effects in projectile distributions originated by grazing scattering of swift atoms off crystal surfaces, now known as Fast Atom Diffraction (FAD), strongly relies on the preservation of quantum coherence [1,2]. In this regard, the collimation conditions of the incident beam, which are associated with the size of the illuminated region of the surface, play an important role [3]. In this work we investigate the influence of the collimation of the incident particles, which determines the shape of the incoming wave packet, by employing a recently developed semi-quantum approach for FAD, named Surface-Initial Value Representation (SIVR) approximation [4].
