Resumen:
The influence of the electronic band structure on electron emission spectra produced by grazing collisions of protons with metal surfaces is studied considering high incidence velocities. The electron emission process from the valence band is described within the Band-Structure-Based (BSB) approximation, which is a binary collisional method that includes an accurate representation of the electron-surface interaction. This potential incorporates information about the band structure of the solid, reproducing properly the projected energy gap and the energies of the surface and first image states.
