Resumen:
We present theoretical calculations of electron impact multiple ionization (single to quintuple) of Ne, Ar, Kr and Xe. The theoretical model used is the CDW-EIS, adapted for electron impact, and the first Born approximation for the high electron impact energies (E>0.6 keV). We take into account the direct and the post-collisional ionization (PCI). The latter by including experimental branching ratios of Auger type processes. These contributions are very important in the high-energy region. We also obtained proton impact ionization cross sections and tested the high energy limit of both, proton and electron results. The formalism presented here describes the experimental data quite well. In the case of Kr and Xe we extend it even to sextuple ionization, with good agreement in the high energy region.
