Resumen:
The Network for the Detection of Mesospheric Change (NDMC) is a global program with the initial objective to promote international cooperation among research groups investigating especially the mesopause region (80-100 km). The activities involve the coordinated study of atmospheric variability over a wide range of time scales, the exchange of existing know-how, including the coordinated development of improved observation and analysis techniques and modeling. NDMC is contributing to the World Climate Research Program, WCRP. The initial emphasis of NDMC was on mesopause region airglow techniques utilizing the existing ground-based and satellite measurement capabilities. NDMC’s current focus is on documenting climate change and on understanding coupling processes observable at the mesopause level. Objectives and structure of NDMC will be presented. Selected results will be shown.
