Resumen:
The dilute plasma lling the space among galaxy members, the intracluster medium, presentsthermal conduction anisotropy due to the magnetic eld, thus modifying the standard Schwarzchildcriterion for convective stability and giving rise to the so-called magnetothermal (MTI) and heat- ux-driven buoyancy (HBI) instabilities. We analyze both instabilities using the transport equationsfor an ideal anisotropic heat-conducting collisionless plasma derived from the Vlasov equation bythe 16-moment method for the conditions prevailing in the intracluster medium.
