These lecture notes are an introduction to superstring theory. The first lecture covers the action and its symmetries, the critical dimension, boundary conditions and mode expansions. The second and third lectures introduce the R and NS sectors and the spectrum of the type 0, I and II superstrings. The GSO projection is also discussed. Vertex operators and interactions are the subject of the third class whereas modular invariance and one loop partition function are covered in the fifth lecture.
