Dark torsion as the cosmic speed-up

Resumen:
It is shown that the recently detected acceleration of theUniverse can be understood by considering a modification of theteleparallel equivalent of General Relativity, with no needof dark energy. The solution also exhibits phases dominated bymatter and radiation as expected in the standard cosmologicalevolution. We perform a joint analysis with measurements of themost recent type Ia supernovae, baryon acousticoscillation peak, and estimates of the cosmic microwave background shift parameterdata to constrain the only new parameter this theory has.
