Resumen:
Plant extracts have been used to deliver recombinant proteins without accurate studies to confirm they are not harmful for animals. The animals were primed and boost with plant extracts expressing the heterologous proteins r14D9 and tE2 with an adjuvant (Freund or Al(OH)3Hidragel ®).
The r14D9 is a full catalytic antibody expressed in transgenic Nicotiana tabacum cell suspension cultures (1). On the other hand, the glycoprotein tE2 is the truncated version of the Bovine Viral Diarrheal Virus (BVDV), major envelope protein, that we have transiently expressed in N. tabacum leaves (2).
The inequity of the recombinant extracts injected on mice was analyzed.
