Resumen:
Imidazolidine compounds consist in five membered 1,3-heterocycles.The interest focused on the synthesis of these compounds lies on their broad biological activities, which highlights the antimycobacterial (KIEĆ-KONONOWICZ, 2002), immunemodulator (CHAZEAU, 1992), anticonvulsant (THENMOZHIYAL, 2004), and antifungal (SORTINO, 2007) activities. There are a lot of techniques and procedures to measure the antioxidant activity. In vitro methods provide an useful indication of antioxidant activities, one of these is the DPPH radical (2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl) scavenging assay (ANTOLOVICH, 2002). DPPH radical is one of the fewest stable and commercially available organic nitrogen radical with a deep purple color. This radical reacts with other reactive species like other radicals, reducing agents as well as compounds capable of hydrogen atom transfer. The radical scavenging produces loss of color, which can be measured spectrophotometrically at 517 nm (APAK, 2013). The aim of this work consist in studying the antioxidant activity of the synthetized compounds by DPPH radical scavenging assay.
