Resumen:
Flash vacuum as well as conventional pyrolysis were used to get insight into the mechanisms of thermal decomposition of benzyl and benzylidene derivatives of the title compounds. Since the benzyl compounds always open a radical channel in the thermal dissociation, thus lowering the yields of other intramolecular processes, we also started the pyrolyses with benzylidene derivatives. A complete kinetic analysis was carried out for both type of compounds and the Activation Energies as well as the entropy contributions have been measured. From these and the products formed, detected and measured, mechanistic insight into the reactions was gained and, in all cases corroborated with DFT calculations.
