Resumen:
At laboratory scale trialkyltin hydrides are the most versatile and important mediators in radical chemistry. Given the toxicity and the difficulty of elimination of tin byproducts these compounds have limited application for the preparation products for human use. In last twenty years different clean alternatives to tin hydrides have been developed and applied in important radical transformations. In this chapter we describes some general approaches and recent advances on substitutes to tin hydrides with a main focus on electron transfer processes that probed to be a promising but still exploited approach.
