Rocio started the seminar series off by discussing her recent paper about phylogenetic relationships and evolution of the physaloids, with a tiny bit of taxonomy. She presented the main results about the phylogenetic resolution of the tribe Physalideae, highlighting the need for taxonomic work, and the evolutionary patterns of the fruiting calyx within the group. Regarding taxonomy, she presented her proposal to change the conserved type of Withania and keep a stable nomenclature for the physaloids.https://physaloidseminars.weebly.com/past-seminars.html
