Resumen:
In nature cell-cell and cell-tissue interactions are mediated by membraneassociatedand membrane-bound oligosaccharides, known as extracellularmatrix and glycocalix. To understand the role of these oligosaccharides, simplifiedmodels of cellular surfaces composed of membrane-anchored glycolipidswere studied. These model systems consist of oriented, solid supported glycolipidmembrane multilayers.
