Resumen:
This paper deals with the free transverse vibration of  plates with an internal line hinge. The Ritz method is employed in connection with the Lagrange multiplier method to treat the discontinuity of the slope at the hinge line. All of edges of the plate may take any combination of classical support conditions. Vibration frequencies and mode shapes are obtained for rectangular plates of different aspect ratios and edge support conditions. The influence of the internal line hinge on the vibration behaviour of rectangular plates is studied.
