Resumen:
Nylon 6/HDPE/ clay nanocomposites were prepared by mixing modified montmorillonite with nylon 6 and linear high density polyethylene (HDPE) in a mixer chamber. Their structures and barrier properties to cyclohexane were evaluated by X-ray diffraction (XRD) and pervaporation respectively. Cyclohexane pervaporation resistance measurements showed that nanocomposites present resistance to solvent pervaporation superior to that of others blends containing no clay. The clay content significantly influences the solvent pervaporation resistance of the nylon 6/HDPE blends.
