Resumen:
Recently, double green facades appeared as a technique for reducing the cooling loads in buildings. In this work the shadowing effect of double facades is studied by integrating models for the leaves spectral transmittance, the plant canopy characteristics and local microclimate. As a result, Leaf Area Index variation along the year and the transmittance of the whole canopy weremodelled for climbing specie, yielding more specific data with potential use in energy simulation softwares.
