Resumen:
Entrapment in alginate beads is a technique that is widely used to improve operational stability and manipulation of biocatalysts in industrial processes. The main objective of this work was to optimize the entrapment in alginate beads of a mycelium-bound lipase activity from Aspergillus niger MYA 135. To evaluate the biocatalyst performance, the reusability of the solid supported microbial biomass was determined in successive cycles of hydrolysis of p-nitrophenyl palmitate. Thus, applying the Box-Behnken experimental design it was possible to significantly increase the number of cycles of reuse of the biocatalyst with respect to previous work.
