Resumen:
The root system is essential for monitoring soil water status. The biochemical processes triggered in this organ during a period of drought, alert the rest of the organism and maximize water uptake. In order to understand the molecular basis of these responses in roots of yerba mate, root transcriptome sequencing was performed in contrasting conditions of soil water soil = ~ -0.04 MPa and -2 MPa). Illumina1500 Hi Seqplatform was used, followed by de novo assembly. A total of 132,387 unigenes and 222,232 transcripts were obtained from 172,128,258 pair-ends reads (2x150bp) from 6 libraries (control and stress sample triplicated).Among them, 49% could be functionally annotated using public databases. The comparative analysis of transcriptomes revealed that 1,189 transcripts were differentially expressed (FDR
