Legume Morphology Working Group

Thirty eight leguminologists from all over the world convened in October 2014 at the 1st Legume Morphology Working Group Meeting in Salvador, Bahia (Brazil) and enthusiastically participated to an intense afternoon of discussions and brainstorming. This event was possible thanks to the organization of the official Legume Symposium by Luciano Paganucci de Queiroz and Domingos Cardoso. The central part of the meeting was divided into two main sessions in which three topics per session were simultaneously discussed: Database, List of legume taxa, List of characters, LMWG workshop, Gaps in our knowledge, Glossary. Participants were invited to attend the discussion on the topic of their interest and were free to leave one group and join another as desired. Each topic discussion was lead and moderated by one participant. This meeting report summarizes key results of these discussions, as well as the next steps of the LMWG, possibly including the organization of a workshop in 2015.
