Registration of Kenhy and Gibtuck Limpograss Hybrids

Based on the combination of superior DM yields under small plot mechanical harvest, persistence under grazing defoliation with high defoliation pressure at multiple locations, and superior performance under stockpiling management, 4F and 10 were approved for release by the Florida Agricultural Experiment Station in 2014 and have been named Kenhy and Gibtuck, respectively. These two limpograss hybrids represent the first release of genetically recombined germplasm that we are aware in this species (all previous releases were plant introductions collected from native conditions in Africa).
