Resumen:
A new species of Serjania, S. littoralis Somner & Ferrucci from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, belonging to Serjania sect. Serjania, is described, illustrated and compared to its putative closest relatives S. dentata and S. faveolata. The new species is known only from restinga vegetation in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. In addition, micromorphological characters of pollen grains are described.
