Thor & Vezda) Lücking, Aptroot & Sipman, C. magdalenae Rivas Plata, Lücking & Lizano, C. persistens (Malme) Lücking, Aptroot & Sipman, C. pusillum (Mont.) Lücking, Aptroot & Sipman, and C. weberi (Vezda) Lücking, Aptroot & Sipman are recorded for the first time from South America. The known distribution of twenty four species of this lichen genus is extended. A revision of the genus in Argentina and Paraguay is also presented.
