Resumen:
The new species Senecio glandulifer Dematt. & Cristóbal (Asteraceae) from the open forest of northeastern Argentina is described and illustrated. The new entity belongs to the S. pinnatus complex and it is distinguished from related species by the glandular hairs and somewhat fleshy leaves. Besides, Senecio glandulifer presents chromosome number 2n=40, which distinguish to it from the closely related S. pinnatus that shows 2n=80.
