Resumen:
Nanogels are nanosized crosslinked networks composed of hydrophilic or amphiphilic polymer chains that are capable of absorbing and releasing large quantities of its retained fluid (water, physiological fluids and/or drugs) bearing the characteristics of both hydrogels and nanoparticles.1 Thermoresponsive polymers undergo a phase transition at a certain temperature in aqueous media known as phase transition (Tp).3 Since the monomers are harmful to biological species, biological effects of the nanogels should be evaluated prior to its application in biomedicine. In this work, nanogels based on PNIPAm (a thermosensitive polymer) were synthesized, characterized, and evaluated using biological assays.
