Resumen:
Films of PAP-P4VP were irradiated and then the UV- visible spectra were collected. After 30 sec of irradiation the trans-cis isomerization is completed, showed by the decrease of the peak at 360 nm and the increase of the 450 nm peak in the UV-visble spectrum. Then, it was observed that after one day of storage in the dark the sample completely returned to its initial stable condition.Irradiation an recovery cycles in visible light were performed in films prepared by solutions that were kept under stirring at room temperature for 24 h, to favour H bond formation. As it was observed the geometrical isomers can be triggered by light of appropriate wavelengths. The trans isomer is stable in visible light (400-500 nm) and in the dark, while the cis form is favoured by UV light (320-390 nm).The changes that occur after enrichment of polymer with the chromophore are of tremendous interest, especially in the area of smart materials. Among them, the photomechanical property enhancement under UV light exposure and the surface relief gratings formation were evaluated.
