Resumen:
Design of high-pressure all-composite tanks (type V) for gas storage must take into account the microcacking behavior of the matrix, which is a strain-based phenomenon that leads to gas leakage. For this reason, ply-stacking sequence must be optimized in order to control in-plane strains at the same time that the thickness is minimized. A combined algorithm based on evolutionary techniques and Finite Elements Methods (FEM) is proposed to solve the problem of multi-objective optimization. Results showed a 10% weight reduction with maximum in-plane deformation below the microcracking threshold.
