Resumen:
In modern industrialized societies, there is a growing need to redu ce or control friction and wear. Attending to that, tribologists have made increasing use of surface treatments and coatings because of their advantageous features. This work studies friction and wear under sliding conditions of surface treated SAE 4140 steel. The performance of i on nitriding and Ti N coatings, combined or not, was evaluated in a pin on disk machine.
