Resumen:
Bacterial cellulose (BC) is widely used in biomedicine because of biocompatibility, easy production and purification, high water content thatprovides a moist atmosphere at the injury site and good oxygen permeability. In-situ synthesis of silver phosphate (AgP) microparticles decoratingthe surface of BC provides membranes with broad-spectrum antimicrobial activity. The hybrid AgP-BC membranes were characterized bybiophysical techniques like scanning electron microscopy (SEM), vibrational spectroscopy (FTIR), differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) and Xraydiffraction (XRD) showing homogeneous distribution of silver phosphate microparticles on BC membrane surfaces.
