Resumen:
The use of iron nanomaterials for remediation of organic pollutants in water can be considered as a hot topic in the field of nanotechnology. Alternatively, green synthesis methods of metal nanoparticles can produce novel nanomaterials which are environmental friendly, safe to humans, and sustainable for commercial use [3]. Green chemistry principles can be incorporated into the synthesis of nanoparticles by considering the proper choice of reducing agents, capping agents, solvents, supports, and methods for surface modification. In this context, the influence of the preparation method on the catalytic activity and stability of Prussian Blue nanoparticles (PBNP) supported onto -Al2O3 is tested for Orange G Fenton-type oxidation. Although Prussian blue colloids and hydrogen peroxide were used as a heterogeneous Fenton reagent [2], to our knowledge the use of PBNP for this purpose has not been reported.
