Resumen:
Today it is clear that existing manufacturing concepts cannot successfully respond to the problems to which the modern production and the society as a whole is/and will be exposed in the future. Development of modern manufacturing systems required constantly changes and modernization. Main progress is oriented towards automatic operation and the introduction of artificial intelligent methods. The intervention of skilled worker is not needed anymore or it is limited to some critical operations only. The main characteristics of such systems are: - Emerging of intelligence, - High efficiency of production facilities, - High reliability of equipment, - High quality of products, - Fast response to market requirements, - Great flexibility, - High cost effectiveness, - New production technology, most frequently in use, - Intelligent computer numerical control (ICNC) of machine tools and machining centres in the frame of flexible manufacturing systems (FMS), - Intelligent CAD/CAM systems, - Autonomous and intelligent industrial robots for transport and manipulation functions.
