Resumen:
Rigid polyurethane (PU) foams are widely used due to its high thermal insulation and excellent resistance/weight relationship. Nowadays, however, environmental concerns stimulate the use of renewable resources to replace petrochemical raw materials. In this context, the use of polyols derived from vegetable oils is a very attractive alternative that can contribute to the environmental protection. The aim of this work is to prepare and characterize PU foams from bio-based polyols, using H2O as blowing agent to enhance their green nature.
