Resumen:
Ox-LDL activates the expression of genes involvedwith LDL cellular income and the esterification and cholesterol removal ;nevertheless, cortisol promotes the contrary effect. In accordance with theinhibition of genic expression of cellular cholesterol influx and efflux induceby cortisol we have observed a decrease of cells lipid droplet . For thatreasons we have concluded that cortisol has a direct antiatherogenic roledecreasing the formation of  Foamscells. The adition of BVT2733, an inhibitor of 11βHSD1 activity, prevents the conversión of cortisona into cortisol, wich  is cual evidence tha only cortisolcontributes to anti-inflammatory response and also to the inhibition of  foam cells formation
