Resumen:
Novel Positron Annihilation Lifetime Spectroscopy applications include the study of tumour tissues. In order to obtain reliable information from these investigations, a rigorous analysis of the adequate working conditions is necessary. We report here preliminary experiments in tumours, fixed in different manners and measured both using a standard 22Na positron source and as 22Na impregnated samples. Results suggest that tumour formol fixation and the using of a positron source are good strategies to perform these determinations. Experiments reveal the existence of a tumour characteristic long lived lifetime which was assigned to ortho-positronium annihilation in protein cavities.
