Resumen:
Ostracods are bivalved crustaceans that abound in all types of marine and non-marine environments. Thematerial was collected in April 2015 from temporary ponds of the Middle Parana River (31°37? S, 60°41? W, Argentina). Ostracods were then fixed with formalin 10% and preserved in 70% ethanol. The dissected valves were stored dry in micropaleontological slides and soft parts in glycerine in sealed slides. The new species is characterized by a medium sized, ovoid carapace with a high dimorphism. Females larger than males. Left valve overlaps right valve. Surface of carapace smooth with some long setae. Tiny pustules present along free margins in both valves. Greatest height at midlength. Selvage peripheral anteriorly. Cal- cified inner lamella well developed on both margins. Both margins rounded. Anterior margin acuminated, and ventral margin convex in the middle. In males the terminal segment of the antenula with a strong serra- ted claw. Mandibula with eight cuspate teeth. Second and third maxillular endites with two setae and two spatula-like claws each; palp not segmented, tapering, with 2 apical setae. Very short setae on endopodal segments of the third thoracopod, unequally long setae ?h1? and ?h2? on the terminal segment. Hemipenis with a triangular distal lobe, a pointed tip and a fingerlike projection, dorsal seta present; lower ramus sha- ped in a claspering process. Posterior seta on the caudal ramus long. There are ten species within the genus keysercypria in South America The new species resembles keysercypria affinis because of the similar shape and size of the carapace, althought have a very different morphology of the hemipenis and the length of the h3 seta of the second thoracic limb.
