Resumen:
The neotropical genus Acanthagrion Selys (Odonata: Coenagrionidae) is composed by 41 species. In this contribution two females are described: A. aepiolum Tennessen and A. chararum Calvert. Furthermore, a redescription of the female of A. ascendens Calvert and the male of A. chararum Calvert is given.
