Resumen:
This four-day field trip to the Neuquén Basin provides an excellent opportunity to observe the geology and to enjoy the superb outcrops of the most extensively studied petroleum basin of Argentina. Numerous outcrops along the Andean Fold and Thrust Belt will be visited in order to show the participants the stratigraphy, sedimentology and facies associations of Mesozoic siliciclastic, carbonate and evaporite units. The field trip will highlight the stratigraphic architecture of fluvial, aeolian, shallow marine and deep marine sequences and reservoir rocks.
