Resumen:
ARGUS was a joint program between NRL (Naval Research Laboratory, U.S. Navy) and SHN (Serviciode Hidrografía Naval, Argentine Navy), whose objective was to carry out a detailed magnetic survey of the Argentine continental shelf. The acquisition of data was performed in two surveys, one in 1991 and another in 1993. A group of large positive anomalies in the southern Colorado basin have been called the Tona anomaly. The purpose of this work consists in carrying out 2D magnetic modelling of ARGUS lines crossing the Tona anomaly using an interactive program to estimate the vertex coordinates of the bodies and to use the Euler deconvolution to limit the depth of the sources. By the analysis of the results, we will make inferences about the bodies that compose the Tona anomaly. In addition, we will infer the possible link to the south Atlantic opening or a previous extensional episode.
