Resumen:
The Sierras Bayas Group of the Tandilia System constitutes theNeoproterozoic sedimentary cover of the Río de La Plata Craton inArgentina deposited during the breaking of Rodinia to the Gondwanaconfiguration. C- and O-isotope chemostratigraphy among four sections ofdolostones (~ 40m thick) of the Villa Mónica Formation allows a strongintrabasinal correlation. This section is composed of stromatolitic andlaminated dolostones with interbedded thin claystone levels developed inshallow marine environments showing a general regression pattern. Thebasal portions of the Upper Villa Mónica Formation display negative δ13Cvalues that turns to 0? in the middle section and then to positiveupwards. C- and O-isotope chemostratigraphic patterns from preserveddolomicrite, plus the presence of a discrete level of diamictite withdropstones followed by a phosphogenesis event just below the dolostones, may suggest this succession as deposited from post-glacial meltwater....
