Resumen:
TiO2 materials doped withpalladium were prepared by the sol-gel method under different conditions, including the use of Tween 80 as a structure directing agent. The effect of thesynthesis conditions on the properties of each material was studied. The photocatalytic activity for theselective degradation of phenol in the presence of Aldrich Humic Acid (as amodel of natural organic matter) was evaluated. A Rayonet-100 photoreactor withUV and Vis lamps was used. All prepared materials showed photoactivity forphenol degradation. The optimum content of palladium was 0.10% at. Materialssynthesized in the presence of Tween achieved a higher percentage of phenoldegradation in the presence of AHA than the analogous without Tween. By exposure to sunlight for 5 hours, a 74%degradation of phenol was obtained in the presence of AHA using 0.10PdTiTw.These results indicate the potential application of this material for theselective degradation of pollutants in aqueous effluents with complex matrices
