Resumen:
The acetyl group is a very useful protecting group and it has been employed widely in carbohydrate chemistry [1]. Partially acetylated monosaccharides are very important and versatile in many ways. Selective deprotection is often a key step in sugar derivatives synthesis.Several homogeneous catalysis systems have been reported that allow O-deacetylation in the presence of benzoates, e.g. guanidine, Sm/I2, DBU, HCl/MeOH, HBF4.Et2O, p-TsOH, etc. We present herein a method for the rapid acetate cleavage that can be accomplished in the presence of O-benzoyl groups using a magnetic metal oxide as environmentally friendly solid catalysts.[2]
