Resumen:
In this work, platinum bionanocatalysts supported on a S-layer protein/polymeric nanoparticles template were prepared and characterized. The S-layer proteins used were isolated from L. kefiri, and the polymer nanoparticles were based on polyurethane and acrylic, synthesized by the prepolymer method and by emulsion polymerization, respectively. Once the catalysts were obtained, they were reduced with H2 at room temperature. All the systems were characterized by FTIR and transmission electron microscopy, in order to evaluate the efficiency of the polymer nanoparticle synthesis, the morphology of the S-layer protein/polymer nanoparticle template and the size distribution of the metal particles. The catalysts were used in the reduction of p-nitrophenol with NaBH4, which was followed spectrophotometrically, measuring the absorption of the reagent at 400 nm.
